Andreu Termes is a graduate and doctorate of sociology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. His academic interests are linked to the sociology of education, including: comparative education, school segregation processes, educational equity, and the political economy of education reform. Given his wide research interests, he is highly invoved in the two research strands of the ReformEd project (with the first strand focusing on the dissemination and adoption of SAWA policies, and the second one on the enactment of SAWA policies at the school level). In the past, Termes has conducted research on vocational training in Catalonia, charter schools in Bogotá, and education privatization processes in Manila. In 2016, he was a fellow researcher at the University of Amsterdam. Since 2017, as part of the REFORMED project, he has coordinated the case study of school autonomy and accountability policies in Minas Gerais (Brazil), in close collaboration with the research team Gestrado of the University of Minas Gerais.
